Zlatne grede

ZLATNE GREDE 15

A parterre corner house with an entrance on Milovan Vidaković Street. The house’s layout is in the shape of the Cyrillic letter “Г”. It was built after 1900, as the plot was empty on the city’s plan that year. Both street facades are treated equally in design, and the corner itself is not particularly emphasized. The plinth is unusually accentuated with the imitation of two rows of flat pseudo-stone blocks. From Zlatna Greda Street, there are three windows and a double-wing entrance, and on Vidaković Street, there are seven windows and three blind windows – two at the corner and one at the end of the row. All windows are in simple plaster frames connected by a thin cornice at the upper edge. The attic parapet features a profiled cornice, and the roof eave is not significantly extended but is profiled.

On the courtyard side, there is a porch. Access to the apartment is from the entrance hallway, and the room layout is traditional, with rooms facing the street and auxiliary rooms towards the courtyard. During one of the renovations, the facade appearance was simplified, but it has been preserved and significantly contributes to the quality of the ambiance of the two streets in its basic dimensions.
