PETRA DRAPSINA 50

This two-story house with a mansard roof was built in 1930 for Milan Grujić, based on a 1929 design by architect Jovan Melka. It is located at the corner with Laze Kostića Street.

The rounded corner is emphasized by a window and a semicircular balcony with a striking decorative iron railing.

The façades are rhythmically articulated with a series of window openings, pilasters with unusual capitals, and ornaments in the parapet fields. Both wings feature shallow risalits — the corner one facing Laze Kostića Street is rounded, while the other façade includes a semicircular pedestrian entrance.

Balconies supported by iron brackets face the courtyard.

The wing along Petra Drapšina Street was added in 1938/39, designed by engineer Lazar Nedeljković for Vera and Đorđe Grujić. In 1991, roof dormers and a mansard terrace facing the courtyard were added.

This building is a representative example of post-Art Nouveau architecture from the early 1930s. Like the house on the adjacent corner (No. 48), it now stands in an inappropriate setting, surrounded by new multi-story buildings.
