3D Monument to Svetozar Miletić
The monument to Svetozar Miletić (1826-1901), the most important leader of the Serbian people in the Habsburg Monarchy, deputy, lawyer and mayor of Novi Sad, made of bronze, 500 cm high, the work of sculptor Ivan Meštrović, was first erected in 1939 in front of the City Hall on Freedom Square in Novi Sad . The monument was removed during the Second World War, but it was returned to its place in 1944. In 1951, the sculptor Pavle Radovanović carved the text: “Svetozar Miletić 1826 – 1901. Work of Ivan Meštrović 1939” on the new gray marble pedestal 215/138/157 cm. The monument has been designated as an immovable cultural asset – a cultural monument of great importance.
